It is no longer a secret that nature helps us humans to calm down and regenerate. Winter hiking is therefore a soothing experience.
When you take the time to wind down in the wintery white landscape around the Blaa Alm, the relaxing effect sets in after just a few moments. Perhaps also because we can't help but breathe deeply - and gratefully - in front of this solemn backdrop. The winter hike starts at the Geiger Alm. After a flat section, you pass alpine huts, followed by a short climb. Once at the top, the trail leads through a small section of forest back to an open area, the "Klauseck". Immediately afterwards you reach the Blaa alpine pasture area.
On the way there, a unique view of the rocky crest of the Loser opens up. Its angular summit structure makes it the landmark of the Ausseerland. The trail continues across the Blaawiese meadow. Always in our line of view: the Loser and its neighbouring peaks Greimuth and Bräuningzinken as well as views of the Tote Gebirge. Halfway along the trail you reach the Blaa Alm inn, where you can stop for a bite to eat if you are already hungry. Via the Klauseck you then return to the starting point.
Winter resort tip: This is also the time for culinary delights against a romantic mountain backdrop - in the Geiger Alm: the cuisine is modern and fresh, traditional Ausseerland dishes and regional products are on the menu. For example, the Ausseer char - enjoy!
