Barbara Sicharter Way, back and forth, Vorau

"In the footsteps of pilgrims and pilgrims" you hike on asphalt, field and forest paths from Vorau to Wenigzell - a great tour in the Joglland - Waldheimat region.
On this path, one learns interesting information about Barbara Sicharter, the founder of the order of St. Mary's Hospital Vorau. On the information boards along the way at the rest stops, selected Bible passages are designated, which invite you to reflect, linger and enjoy.The starting point of this trail is also well worth seeing: the Augustinian canons' monastery in Vorau is the only canons' monastery still active in Styria. Vorau Abbey delights visitors especially with its unique library and sacristy. This is also where the trail starts, also the first marking of the Barbara Sicharter Trail: yellow panels with inscription can be found here.Once you arrive in Wenigzell, there are numerous places to stop for refreshments.

Coming from Vienna: A2 exit Pinggau - Rohrbach - Vorau Coming from Graz: A2 exit Pinkafeld or Hartberg - Rohrbach - Vorau Detailed information on how to get there can be found here:
Vorau Abbey
- We start at the Augustinian monastery in Vorau
- On the hiking trail no. 919 we hike to the Joglland farm shop
- After that we follow the signs of the Barbara-Sicharter-Weg for about 300 meters.
- We continue on this path in a westerly direction until we reach the next information point "I am the salt of the earth".
- After 15 minutes we come to an asphalted municipal road, which we follow to the right.
- We cross the brook "Lafnitz" and reach the next station at Laftnitzegg
- From here we have another 45 minutes walking time before we reach Wenigzell

Parking spaces are available at Vorau Abbey.
