The nature adventure trail enables an intensive experience of the flora and fauna of the city of Weiz and its surroundings.
Along the 12.4 kilometer long circular trail, the richness and diversity of nature is presented by means of information boards. The hiker passes through very different cultural landscapes. Easily accessible hiking trails reveal the most diverse habitats, which offer numerous plant and animal species their place in the ecosystem. Starting from the main square in Weiz, you quickly leave the urban noise behind and after just a few meters you are immersed in the Hofstatt forest. This includes a forest nature trail, which offers an introduction to forest lore on several display boards. You are immersed in a suburban idyllic environment. Numerous information boards describing flora and fauna line the entire path.

The district capital of Weiz is located in eastern Styria and is very easy to reach via the A2 motorway from Vienna (approx. 2 hrs) and Graz (approx. 30 min).
Arrival from Vienna and from Graz:
On the A2 coming from Vienna and from Graz, take motorway exit 161 / Gleisdorf West in the direction of B54/B64. Follow the B65 / Gleisdorfer Bundesstraße until you reach the B54 / Wechselbundesstraße. At the roundabout, take the second exit north to the B64 / Rechberg-Bundesstraße. After approx. 15 km you will reach the city of Weiz.
- Starting from the main square, we walk past the Tabor church on the right into the Hofstatt settlement. There we turn left up towards the forest and after a few 100 metres we reach the water reservoir and the beginning of the forest nature trail.
- When we arrive at the clearing, we go left along the forest and follow hiking trail 1 via Götzenbichl to the entrance to Bärental.
- There we turn right down along trail no. 13 until we reach the Kleine Raabklamm. We stay on trail no. 13 in a north-easterly direction.
- After about half a kilometre, we leave the path to the right up towards Hafningberg. At Elisabeth Eder's herb oasis, we leave the forest and follow the road up the Göttelsberg (trail no. 15).
- At the Zattach cross, the trail makes a bend and continues along the forest. After about half a kilometre, do not follow trail no. 15 to the left but continue along the edge of the forest.
- After a few hundred metres, turn left into the forest and walk through the Hofstatt forest into the Hofbauer landscape park. Cross the park to get back to the starting point of the hike, the main square in Weiz.
On hot days, bring swimwear so you can refresh yourself in the cool Raab River.
Weiz is easily accessible by train. To Graz main station - direction Gleisdorf - change - S-BAHN to Weiz. There is also a regular bus service between Graz and Weiz. From the station you can reach the Weiz main square on foot in approx. 10 minutes.

There is paid parking around the Weizer main square (on weekdays). Free parking is available about 1 km away at the Weizer town hall.
