The Buschenschank (wine tavern) Freiberger in the Nature Park Pöllau Valley stands for Styrian comfort - enjoy homemade and homegrown snacks and drinks.
The speciality of the house are dishes from Highland cattle. With the right preparation according to old, traditional recipes the tender and lean meat is a delicacy for old and young! You can enjoy for example "Saures", cooked, cold beef with a pumpkin seed oil and vinegar dressing, a Winzerjause (winemaker snack) or one of our many salads garnished with meat from our Highland cattle. We, of course, also offer other traditional, regional and delicious treats in a cosy atmosphere.
We source our fine wines from surrounding vineyards - Welschriesling, Zweigelt or Isabella - something for everyone. Whether you want to enjoy a good bottle of wine at home or want to gift someone with a box of wine, we are happy to help.
Cold buffets are prepared according to your wishes for festivities starting with a minimum of 20 guests. We also gladly prepare a cold platter for you to take home. We are happy to welcome pre-booked coach groups at any time. We offer seating for 120 guests inside and for 60 guests outside.
"SAM" stands for "Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark" and is a shared taxi. It effectively closes the mobility gap where buses and trains do not travel. The SAM stop closest to the Buschenschank Haubenwaller is HF 5833. You can find further collection points here.
