Lake and river offer both athletes and those seeking tranquillity a a chance to relax. If water is the ingredient you need for a successful holiday, you'll definitely find it here - here a couple of tips for where you can go to "weigh anchor".

The river Mur snakes through the region like a lifeline, offering us idyllic options for cycling and walking. Our mountain lakes, bathing ponds and swimming pools provide oft-needed places to cool off during the summer.

Summer time is time for water fun. At the Aqualuxtherme you can experience soothing moments of relaxation, while your children have fun on the slides and delight in the other attractions. But even that's not all. There are numerous outdoor pools in the Region Murtal inviting you to get sporty and active. Sports pool, rushing channel and white-water pool are yours to dive into.

Do you prefer something more natural? Then don't miss a visit to one of our bathing ponds and natural lakes. With its swimming pond, the Freizeitanlage Möderbrugg offers all sorts of fun under the watchful eye of the two-thousander mountains encircling it.

The organic bathing pond in Pöls-Oberkurzheim is one of the largest in Austria. With 4,700 square metres of pure, clean water and 11,000 aquatic plants, it is a perfect place for spending a few relaxed hours on a hot summer's day.
