Cities and towns in Styria

Almost 300 cities and towns make up the multi-faceted cultural landscape of Austria's greenest federal state. Two UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Graz with its Old Town and Schloss Eggenberg as well as the Semmering Railway – enchant visitors. Murau, Leoben, Judenburg, Bruck an der Mur, Hartberg or Bad Radkersburg have been considered important hubs for trade for many centuries, impressing out-of-towners with the beauty of their historic centres. What's more, the various towns also cater to the culinary tastes of their visitors. St. Ruprecht an der Raab in East Styria, for instance, has devoted itself entirely to the cultivation and preparation of the scarlet runner bean with its nutty, peppery nuances. Leutschach in South Styria, on the other hand, is home to numerous wine-growing areas where exquisite wines are made. At the same time, it's also Austria's largest hop-growing region.
