If you cross the Semmering from Vienna, you enter a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

During winter, you can swoosh down the slopes at six Hochsteiermark ski resorts. Cross-country skiers will love the region’s expansive trail network, while avid ski tourers should visit the natural snow paradise of the Mariazellerland region. If you’re a fan of snowshoeing, we recommend Mürztaler Oberland Nature Park or the region surrounding the Hochschwab.
