Rafting on the Salza is one of the highlights of water sports in the Gesäuse. The half-day tour leads through the core stretch of the Salza, the Palfauer Gorge. Quiet passages constantly alternate with rapids, the possibility of whitewater swimming and the jump from the former waterhole footbridge are small tests of courage in between. This tour is suitable for beginners as well as for already experienced participants.
Programme sequence
The meeting point is at our base in Palfau. At the agreed time we will start with the distribution of equipment. The participants change on site and we drive with our busses to the entrance of Peter. After a briefing and a safety talk we start with our rafting tour on the Salza. After about 3 hours we reach the exit at the Saggraben campground. There the busses bring us back to the camp. The tour continues with showers, changing rooms and return of equipment.
