The Geosteig via ferrata in the Gesäuse National Park is one of the most scenically impressive via ferrata routes in Austria. Your professional mountain guide Jürgen Reinmüller will provide you with the best possible support and guidance in small groups of up to 4 people, making this via ferrata experience a safe and stress-free adventure.

Programme

  • Meeting point at 9.00 a.m. at the Gasthof Donner in Johnsbach
  • Material and partner check
  • Walk to the via ferrata (5 min.)
  • Safety briefing on our via ferrata course "Alpinpark" opposite
  • Climbing "Geosteig" via ferrata with difficulties on the via ferrata up to C
  • During the ascent, your mountain guide will give you information on how to improve your climbing technique.
  • Summit break with unique scenic views of the Gesäuse National Park
  • Leisurely descent to the starting point
  • Finish in the garden at the Donnerwirt inn
Beginners and advanced
  • Guidance exclusively by a state-certified mountain and ski guide
  • Leisure equipment - harness, helmet and via ferrata brake
  • All costs for the mountain guide
  • Basic fitness for full-day tours of up to 4 hours and up to 600 metres in altitude difference
  • Sure footedness in the terrain (on rock-strewn hiking trails)
  • Strength in the sleeves for vertical ladder climbing
  • Awareness of dizziness
  • Minimum age: 10 years
