Leisurely Gravel Bike circuit to the idyllic Spechtensee.
Leisurely circular route to the idyllic Spechtensee on forest and asphalt roads. One moderately steep mountain climb (approx. 8 km). At the Spechtensee there is a stop for refreshments and swimming, which makes the tour an absolute classic for families.
For the protection of the game (resting times), driving on the trails is only allowed at the following times:
From Salzburg: Take the A10 to Altenmarkt, in Radstadt join the B320. Follow the B320 until Trautenfels. There turn right in the direction of Irdning. Follow the road until you reach the center of Irdning. The starting point is the red building on the right side.
From Graz: Take the A9 to Liezen, then take the B320 to Trautenfels. In Trautenfels turn left in the direction of Irdning. Follow the road until you reach the center of Irdning. The starting point is the red building on the right side.
From the market place in Irdning you go about 1.4 km to Schlattham - at the turnoff left on the Sallaberg, from where you have a tremendous panorama of the Grimming. After the descent, before the Enns bridge, there is a turnoff to the right onto the R7, where along the Enns, past the Aigen air base, you join the state road, which leads to Wörschach. After the underpass of the main road you turn left to the only hill climb of about 8 km length through the Wörschach forest. At Km 10,7 you have a beautiful view of the ruin Wolkenstein. In the middle of the beautiful alpine pasture area lies the Spechtensee. During the descent towards Klachau, the back of the mighty Grimming shapes the landscape. Along the R19, the old federal road leads to Untergrimming and on to Trautenfels. After bypassing the intersection of the federal highway, you then ride comfortably along the R7 back to the starting point in Irdning.
Pack your swimming trunks! A jump into the Spechtensee offers the ideal cooling.
