Centrally located on the ground floor and fully soundproofed, the room creates an atmosphere free of distraction. Wood paneling envelops the space and underscores its focus on the essentials.

SPUTNIK is a space for concentrated work—an orbit for free ideas, where thoughts are sharpened and, ultimately, new dimensions are reached.

Size & Equipment: 43 square meters. Black, flexible individual tables allow for various configurations, complemented by bentwood chairs by Braun Lockenhaus.

Special Features: Private anteroom for coffee, snacks, and energy boosts—a separate space for breaks, short pauses, and recharging.

Lighting & Ambience: The original Sputnik chandelier— inspired by the iconic chandeliers of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York and designed in 1966 by J. & L. Lobmeyr in Vienna—gives the room its name and defines it as a central design element.
It is paired with an elegant pigeon grey that enhances calm and clarity. Mid-century wood paneling adds warmth while supporting a focused working atmosphere.

And sometimes, that single spark is all it takes to ignite new ideas and create connections that extend far beyond a single conference room and set something in motion.

Every year, people gather in Graz for congresses, conferences, and seminars. They travel from different regions, industries, and countries, bringing their knowledge with them and taking new ideas back home. But what actually happens between the opening session and the final agenda item? Where do the ideas emerge that may help change the world, even just a little, tomorrow?

These moments form the foundation of a new campaign by MCG – Messe Congress Graz.

The campaign highlights the real impact of events: how people connect with one another, how knowledge is shared, and how individual encounters give rise to new networks that extend far beyond Graz.

Udo Jürgens & Gala Dinner at the Castle 25 October 2026, 3:30 PM Johannes Lafer presents a tribute to Udo Jürgens, featuring his greatest hits accompanied by an elegant gala dinner in the unique setting of Schloss Vasoldsberg.

The ‘Dachstein Almabtrieb‘ (cattle drive) offers companies the perfect opportunity to combine incentives with authentic experiences.
